I was awakened this morning to the telephone ringing at 4:30 AM. I couldn't imagine what was going on. The phone is on Joy's side of the bed (her request) and I couldn't figure out why she wasn't answering it - until I looked over and saw that she wasn't in bed.
I stumbled out to the kitchen area and found here there on the phone with her sister who lives in NYC. She was in labor and couldn't sleep.
Little Sarah Ruth Bouck was born at 10:39 AM and is healthy, happy, and a beautiful little girl. Both mom and baby are doing really well.
If you were wondering, and if you thought we were weird before this, now you know we are unusual folks. Yes, we had our baby at home. This was our fifth child and our first home birth. It was so amazing. So normal. So natural. We're all of a sudden HUGE advocates of home births
